DHYANA

I cannot concentrate, is meditation classes for me

Meditation is  not concentration. It is not just sitting idle either. Meditation brings peace of mind, calmness, bliss, wisdom and compassion. It is for you to decide whether you want to have peace of mind.

I cannot sit cross legged on floor, and my body aches after few minutes of meditation

Sit in a comfortable chair, recline, relax and do meditation.

My mind runs here and there, I want to get up and leave

In the initial stages, mind will play all tricks. Initially use your will power to sit through the session.

ASANA

I dont have a flexible body, can I do asanas

Yes, you can. Do not aim for a perfect flexible body before you start asanas. Then, you dont need to do. Infact people of all age groups and body types should do asanas. Yoga asana practice gives a general well-being. It is not similar to going to a gym. Asana acts on all layers of your being like, muscles, internal organs, joints, endocrine glands, and nervous system.

What is the diet restriction

Usually it is advised to take vegetarian diet. Please refrain from alcohol and smoking whether you practice asanas or not. The following diet is recommended,

No oil, No coffee, No tea, No sugar, No salt, No maida, No processed foods, No dairy products, No animal products, No icecream, No chocolates, No soft drinks, No alcohol, No smoking. Use a diet made up of plant based whole foods. 60% pulses and grains, 20% vegetables (raw and cooked), 20% fruits.

Use millets instead of Rice and Wheat.

When are the classes

If you are interested send a mail to sppillutla@gmail.com mentioning what you want to learn (Jnanayoga, Dhyanayoga, or Asana), and a preferred time.

Usually the dhyana classes are conducted on weekends 7am to 9am IST, and asana classes are conducted weekdays 5am to 7am and 7pm-9pm IST.

What do I require to attend the classes

Any loose fitting dress which can help in doing yoga, a yoga mat, a laptop, internet connection
